I’d like to introduce myself! My name is Derekah Jayne, Dee for short. I have lived in Southeastern CT for the past 12 years but I’m originally from Virginia.

I was raised on a farm as well as in the hospitality business. Since I can remember I’ve been the hopeless romantic type and love planning extravagant dinner parties or date nights. Through life’s ups and downs this passion has not wavered.

 

Upon moving to Connecticut I found a job at a local vineyard. There I perfected my event planning skills as well as overall management. This is what strengthened my desire to pursue this career. No matter how much effort was put into each wedding, the most rewarding feeling was the happiness the bride and groom conveyed when all of that work came together to create their perfect day.

As well as event planning and management, I also had the opportunity to learn authentic Italian cooking from the real deal… a true Italian grandmother. We taught cooking classes together and I learned many incredible skills from her.

​

After 8 years at the vineyard I went on to pursue the next chapter. I’m a musician and spent time investing in that before venturing back into event planning. Along the way I perfected my fine dining skills by working with award winning restaurants. I also continued planning events for customer-turned-friends from the vineyard.

Through this and other opportunities of coordinating for local companies I finally decided to branch out on my own. I’m thrilled and blessed to have a career that I love so much that it doesn’t feel like work! One of my favorite feelings is knowing that the more I care and the more finesse I apply, the more beautiful the outcome. I truly believe that capitalizing on your gifts and passions without conforming to something you feel you have to be is immensely satisfying and reflects into every aspect of your life.

Now that you know a little about me I hope the fire that I feel is manifested to you and beyond. I hope to extend my love for life, family and most of all, love it’s self to each couple I work with.
